Wearing Your Heart on Your Foot?

This month I was lucky enough to attend the world’s largest shoe show in Las Vegas.  It was nothing short of spectacular as all of the famous and not so famous designers carried their shoes from the four corners of the world to show what they had to offer for the spring.

These little dazzlers caught my eye on day two of the Magic and Platform show held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  These were a little different then the shoes that normally catch my eye because the little beauties are on a two-inch heel.  I am a stiletto girl at heart…but as you can see…these kitten heels had all the heart they needed.

Love these- $39.95 at Deborah Stilettos- Pre Order Now!!!

There is so much to love about these heels.  First, the heel is unique and adorable.  They will definitely catch the eye of those walking by which of course is what all of us women want.  The heart heel is also only two inches high making this shoe a possibility for many more women.  There are just some days you know that you will be doing a lot of walking and stilettos may not be the best choice.

Another great feature is the animal print which is still loved by so many and will continue its popularity this spring into the summer from all indications.  Of course, to make this shoe really appealing to the ladies out there are rhinestones placed across the front that catch the light just right.

So if you are looking to find a shoe that will be fun for the summer and easy to wear, you have met your match.  Just send us message through our Facebook www.Facebook.com/DeborahStilettos and we will be happy to help you pre-order these heels or you can just stop in our store at 16 W. Bridge Street, New Hope, Pa and visit us.  It will give you a great opportunity to sip some Champaign with us, walk around and see our other beautiful heels and join our Shoe Sorority which give you many benefits in our shoe world.

Until then…Kisses Bellas,

5 Wardrobe Malfunctions…DVRs Have Never Come in Such Handy!

Is it me? Or does there seem to be more wardrobe malfunctions these days?  DVR’s originated so that people could record their favorite show.  Who would have thought that we would use them to view…and review…and view again our favorite celebrity’s clothes falling off, nipples popping out or skirts revealing nothing underneath?

While I am sure there were mishaps when I was young, the only one I can recall from way back when was the famous pose of Marilyn Monroe when she walked over the subway gate and her dress flew up.  Nothing was exposed and Marilyn certainly struck a pose- one that has traveled through the decades but recently the citings have been more frequent and more telling.  Here were five that I came up with…

1- Marilyn Monroe   As mentioned before, Ms. Monroe starred in the movie The Seven Year Itch and the infamous scene of her standing over the subway grate and her skirt flying higher was part of the script.  The picture of Marilyn holding down her dress that has been reprinted many times over throughout the decades was actually retaken at a studio.  The original shots were taken at 1am with 5000 people watching.  It has been noted that many of the shots were unusable because at that time it was considered inappropriate.  Imagine that?

Marilyn Monroe's Famous Subway Photo

2- Tanisha Mukherjee, an actress, was caught walking down the street with this black dress that suddenly became a kiss and tell when the sun hit it giving new meaning to panty lines.  Good thing for Ms. Mukherjee that her…hum..asset was just that.  This picture unfortunately got better reviews than most of her movies.

Talk about panty lines

3- Poor Britney Spears…went through her crazy time…who hasn’t …with the paparazzi only so ready to document it.  I guess Ms. Spears wasn’t afraid of being in an accident since underwear was not a concern at all.

Thongless is LA

4- Probably most notable in recent times was the Superbowl in which Justin Timberlake “accidentally” ripped off the right section of  Janet Jackson’s bustier.  I don’t know about you but I don’t normally wear a star over my nipple.  Whether it was planned or not, it has been documented to be one of the most reviewed DVR recording in history.  Sorry guys…it’s hard for us to believe you are hanging onto the recording of the Superbowl from 2004.

"Starring" Janet Jackson

5- Last and certainly not least is Jennifer Lopez who made everyone forget the costume and makeup presentation at the Academy Awards.  Ms. Lopez looked stunning in her dress but the dress not only had people smiling in admiration but also scratching their heads on whether Jennifer was presenting more than an Oscar.

Heels in the Bedroom

It’s funny how things change or maybe it’s more that perspectives change.  My mother was the queen of neat of anytime we put our shoes on the carpet, couch or God forbid the bed…you could expect an earful.  Then you enter your adulthood and heels in the bedroom take on a whole different light.

Perhaps this is why this is such a turn on for men.  It’s the taboo. It’s the defiance of your mom saying no.  It is the same premiss why lingerie is more alluring than being naked.  You get to create your own vision of lies beneath the fabric.  So I was wondering is the edginess what causes the bedroom to heat up?

For women, heels make us feel sexy.  We appear taller and our breasts and derrier stick out when we walk in them.  When you feel sexy you want to be sexy.  We are happy to offer solutions to both men and women at DeborahStilettos.com.  Our lingerie line pairs beautiful with the stilettos we are showing for the upcoming season.  The colors are edgy in black and red and for those who like the softer approach, you will be delighted with the creams, whites, shimmery fabrics and pastels.

Take a minute to visit our website.  We would be only to happy to help you make your next visit to the bedroom one that you will remember.

Thoughts While In Heels-Relating to My Heels

This morning I opened my shoe closet to select what heels I would be wearing for the day.  The 5 inch nude Mary Janes…nah…don’t feel like being careful of the path I choose to walk or alert not to step on anyone’s toes today.  The cute ballerina flats…nope…they feel good when I first put them on but after a few hours they become annoying.  My sneakers…they are cute and comfortable but really are boring and predictable.  Maybe my blue suede heels…they hurt from the minute I put them on and cause me hours of after effects like blisters and cuts but like the definition of insanity I keep wearing them expecting different results.  Instead I opted for my beautiful, chunky heel, suede, red booties.  Comfortable yet slightly edgy…soft yet firm in its presentation of the heel…I true delight to wear.

Then it dawned on me how much heels, flats and stilettos were like relationships. Some are comfy and like an old shoe…reliable but lackluster in the thrill department.  Others are painful from the get go and yet we keep hoping they will soften up before they leave us covered in painful blisters.  And then of course, there are the heels that no matter what you wear them with or how long you travel with them on, they just feel good.

Now I am not trying to minimize relationships but wouldn’t it be fun if we could treat our human ties like we handle our shoes?  Just like Pintrest, we could view the shoes and “like” the ones on preview.  Others, sent to us via Facebook Pages could be “unfanned” when they became unappealing, annoying, or overbearing…instead of divorcing.  You could simply resole them, reheel them, change the laces, dye them, or give them to someone who doesn’t have any.  Shop for one on Deborah Stilettos.com and have it delivered in 24 hours without having to make small talk or trudge through a million bad dates.

I love my shoes…but truth be told…they don’t cuddle well with on the couch at night.

Murder on A High Heel? Did This Designer Go Too Far?

We all choose our shoes as an extension of our personalities.  Wearing the perfect stiletto in red might be an indication that you are feeling sexy in your little black dress.  If you are like me, heels can also be an artistic expression.  I don’t particularly go for the loud printed dresses and shirts so I save this blast of color for my feet and I really appreciate the designers who have added a creative twist to their designs.

Christian Louboutin has even capture the color red and has made a legal battle for trademarking the shade as an expression of his brand.  In return when another spots the red underside of another woman’s heel it automatically gives her status in the fashion world.  The shoes are known to be expensive and trendy.

But what happens when a designer takes a large leap out of the box?  We have long since battled the issue of  creative banning in both our libraries and museums alike.  But to my knowledge this has not been a major battle in the fashion world.  Sure we combat the occasional breast exposure and areola sighting but the fashion world is not usually faced with the question of whether or not the actual message in the piece is inappropriate or not.

Recently, I was messaged this high heel that was found by a friend of mine in which the sender stated that the stiletto was disturbing.  In a world where it has become acceptable to use the “n” word in our lyrics, make music videos of women being beaten, and have magazines showing fourteen girls looking as though they are 25 in provocative poses, I did not think anything could shock me.  And I  was wrong.

Blood splattered heel named "The Victim"

I am not even sure if shocked is the right word.  To be honest, I was sickened and emotional to see what designer, Antony felt was good fashion.  Having suffered from domestic violence, this heel invoked a feeling from me that I may not be looking for in a pair of heels.  I think if the shoe had been designed for a Battered Woman’s event I might be more forgiving however this stiletto is available on the open market for $99.00.  I am far from a prude and I have not come across many… if any… heels that I would not wear…until now.  The loss of so many women due to violence should be spotlighted and worn on tee shirts as messages not on our feet as victims.  What do you think?

Jacqueline Kennedy- Most Influential Fashion Trend Setter

Jacqueline Kennedy’s fashion sense had more of an influence on the fashion world than any other First Lady of modern history.  While some squawked at her blatant disregard to price tags and American designers, there was no one who could deny that Jackie O was America’s version of royalty.

Jacqueline Kennedy had a flair for design.  She is single-handedly responsible for bringing historical importance back to the White House by uncovering treasures that were packed away in the basement and restoring some of the historical pieces that were worn down from use and neglect. This allowed the grandeur of the home of the President of the United States to be returned.

The 1960′s fashion world was seen by most as a conviction of the wealthy.  Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy had been raised with money and remained in the same financial bracket when she took the hand of the handsome John Kennedy.  Determined to give a positive light to the fashion world, Jackie kept her finger on the pulse of fashion often bridging different cultures together by wearing a designer of the country they were visiting.  Most notably was the dress designed by Givenchy in France that she wore to the French President’s dinner in which President Kennedy proudly introduced himself “as the man who accompanied Jacqueline Kennedy to Paris.”  The headlines of Mrs.Kennedy’s latest outfits soon took over the current event headlines of the times putting much attention to what this new, young first lady was wearing.

Oleg Cassini was the designer of choice of the first lady and probably was most notably the thing she was most criticized in the domestic fashion world.  Oleg was French and many of the beautiful frocks that would be purchased by Mrs. Kennedy would be imported to the United States from Europe.  Many believed that she should have bought American and was somewhat disloyal to the American designers.  Mrs. Kennedy began to purchase more from America but her love and true ties remained to the Cassini Couture house that continued to her death.

If there was one fashion piece that Jackie Kennedy was most noted and copied, it would be the three strand pearl necklace made for her by Lane Jewelers.  The necklace was a standard accessory for her and one women across the United States and abroad sought after in the faux form.  In 1964, she received the prestigious honor of being place on the International Best Dressed List and remained part of the admiration and attention of the American people long after he husband was laid to rest.

Heels To Flip Flops- What Do the Shoes You Wear Say About Your?

Just when you thought it was safe to throw on a pair of flip-flops or slide into a pair of 5 inch stilettos without being judged, the fashion statements you wear on your feet say a lot about your personality and you as a person.

If flip-flops are a staple in your closet, you are most likely a laid back person and comfort takes first prize when it comes to your shoe selection.  In strike comparison, maybe you are never caught without a fabulous pair of stilettos.  You wouldn’t think about going to the grocery store without a stylish pair of heels.  You would probably be a fashion conscious diva who is sexy and stylish.

Then there are those who wear Uggs in the summer.  Attention seekers who don’t mind their feet overheating, these girls are fashion trend setters who are independent thinkers.  Kitten heels are for those who have a sexy streak running through them but don’t like being in the spotlight as much as someone who would be wearing high heels to be an attention grabber.

Chunky heel wearers are those who follow trends and like being current, youthful thinkers. While those who wear sneakers all of the time are sporty and athletic or maybe the mother’s of young children in which they would be sensible.

Top Three Dresses of the Oscars- Heels, Glamour, and Gowns!

I, like many around the world, sat glued in front of the television last night waiting to see what the starlets of the Academy would be wearing.  While I was not overly impressed by many of the dresses, my top three choices had me screaming when I saw them.

The first wower was George Clooney’s date for the evening, Stacey Kiebler.   looked absolutely breathtaking in her Marchesa gown that was made from a metallic fabric of shimmering gold.  In similar fashion, the WWE wrestler was a winner in the popular off the shoulder number that was repeated in many of the fashions worn for the evening.  Stacey almost looked like her handsome dates own personal Oscar.  The hip line of the dress was gracefully adorned in a soft flower composed of the same fantastic material.  George Clooney looked dashing in his Giorgio Armani suit but yet I am not sure he could look bad in anything.

The second couture stunner was the ever so stunning, Jennifer Lopez.  While this dress was not as beautiful as the one she wore a few years back to the same show- vintage couture, this Zuhair Murad number was shimmery, clingy, and translucent and some might even say exposing. The dress was the ever so popular shimmering white echoed throughout the evening of attendees.

Gwyneth Paltrow really stole the show for me but I was disappointed not see a flurry around her gown.  When she stepped onto the red carpet the tall wispy blonde looking nothing more than a flashback of old Hollywood.  A straight line white gown gently ruched and strapless looked beautiful when she got up to present an award but the outfit was perfection when paired with the Tom Ford Cape that gently hung from her narrow shoulders.  Coupled with a simple 1920′s diamond bracelet, Gwyneth proved the sometimes less is more.

Can’t wait for next year!!

Jennifer Lopez’s Night at the Oscars- Is Accessorizing with an Aerola Too Much?

I was very excited to get ready to view the red carpet frenzy of last night.  Just to see the Hollywood glamour powerhouses parade themselves before entering the Academy Awards was exciting for a fashion hound like me.  There were just a handful of dresses that captivated me last night.  The shoes were magnificent, but who knew that the accessories would be the main topic of conversation today and I am not talking about the Judith Leiber dazzlers or the Harry Winston glitz.  I am referring to Jennifer Lopez and whether or not her areola was the accessory of the night.

I, too was happy to see Jennifer Lopez approach Ryan Seacrest (yes, I was watching E!).  She just has a magnetic way of lighting up any space she enters with her gentle voice, doe-like eyes and with her body that just makes every fabric wrapped around her stretch and scream with delight.  For a woman most complimented on her derrier, Jennifer Lopez  even made Oscar blush last night with her exposed cleavage.

It was only a few years back that the spanish starlet and singer wore a jaw dropping Versace dress to the Grammys that caused men around the globe to drop their jaw and women to stare in wonder if one fail swoop of wind would blow the dress right off of her.  It was a show stopper and a dress that is still being talked about today.

In similar fashion, Jennifer’s gown dropped right down to her naval showing more than just her God-given talents.  I must admit as I watched with complete admiration as she was presenting the award for costume design I wondered if what I was seeing was what I was seeing.  Only so happy to help, my business partner and my son both were only so happy to weigh in on the couture of the evening…  Ok, J Lo’s couture. No certain confirmation was made but it was as though someone had put on the mute button as we all pontificated on Ms. Lopez’s accessory choice of the evening, one that was without diamonds and pearls.

Soon she was whisked off the stage with…oh yeah Cameron Diaz…and the final question of the night was this a wardrobe malfunction or a great way to get a lot of attention about the dress you wore to the Oscars?  What do you think?  And by the way…was she even wearing heels?  Kisses Bellas,

Flatter Your Figure with the Right Heels

As women, we spend a lot of time trying to make ourselves look thinner, taller, more shapely, and stylish.  Most of the focus goes on the outfit…choosing the right color (usually black) to thin out our hips or our junk in the trunk.  Then there are some of us (not me) who were born with super straight shapes and need a little help rounding things out.  While clothes play a vital role on the final outcome of our outfit.  Don’t be quick to overlook the importance of the heels you select to wear.

If your legs need a little enhancing, chunky heels will help give them a pick me up.  Pair this with a blazer if you find yourself with more of an apple figure (busty and booty with thin arms and legs).  Bright bracelets and rings will draw the eye downward and will not focus people’s attention to challenges you might be trying to overcome.

Available at Deborah Stilettos for $39.95!!

Some of us have been blessed with an hourglass figure but that certainly does not mean that you don’t have to be aware of what you put on to best highlight your God-given silhouette.  Slim pointy-toed heels will lighten your lower half and paired with a skinny belt will make your waist look even more slender.

Available at Deborah Stilettos for $39.95

If you are pretty straight from top to bottom and this is not the look you are trying to achieve, don’t fret.  You have come to the right place.  Sexy lace up boots give a little pizzaz to super straight legs.  Check these out…

Maybe your body shape is not causing you to sigh.  Maybe you are just looking for a new style.  Retro is all over the pages of every fashion magazines this upcoming season and I must admit it is really a favorite of mine.  The past designs of some very notable designers such as Chanel and Christian Dior are making a comeback giving women a confident and feminine look to look forward.  A thin knit sweater will give you the flashback of the past when paired with a little black dress.  It is a very nice look that won’t have you causing a frown line on your forehead because if the sweater is thin you will not cause yourself bulkiness.  Throw on a pair of retro black pumps (available at Deborah Stilettos for $39.95) and you too can enjoy some affordable luxury!!
