A Heel with Bullet Shells? A Good Reason to Step Out

High heels, flats, stilettos…it doesn’t really matter what you call them…I LOVE SHOES!!  This year’s spring/summer colors of orange, lime green and neons will most definitely find  a space in my shoe closet and on the shelves of my store.  Polka dots on footwear almost makes me weak in the knees. Like a dip in the Fountain of Youth, when I put them on I feel young.  The funny thing is…I know I am not alone!!

I had a wonderful day in Deborah Stilettos yesterday-located at 16 W Bridge Street, New Hope, Pa.  Sunday afternoon…and the women were so excited by the new shoes we had gotten in.  When I told them we had over 90 more coming in…they were beyond delighted.  However, the high heel that got most of the attention was my own creation…”Heels of Justice.”

Heels of Justice

I created this shoe as a symbol for all women suffering and recovering from domestic violence.  The many brass 22 caliper bullet shells positioned on this nude Mary Jane are empty representing the end of violence.  The shoe is unique representing the individual strength in all of us.  When you put these on…you are standing tall and strong.

I am recovering from domestic violence and have pledged myself as a designer, business woman, mother, and victim to do all that I can to help women and children who have had to endure the unthinkable…to be degraded as a human being.  Abuse is not just physical violence. It is also the emotional soul bashing that many women endure daily.

The proceeds of these shoes will go to Heeling, Inc., a charitable organization raising money for area prevention and assistance programs.

Be a part of the movement today…make more than a fashion statement today…buy these shoes and let’s spread the word that domestic violence needs to end!

Seeing Dots-Polka Dotted Stilettos

As polka dots make a big splash across the fashion winter/spring 2012 world, I chuckle to see the new designers smile broadly at their “new” fashion find.  Unfortunately, I have reached an age where I have seen fashion trends and crazes cycle back around like an old familiar friend.  Perhaps the application has a new twist but the concept is reflective of the past or what we call “vintage inspired.”  Over the past few years, vintage has taken hold of the fashion world making it only too chic to mix yesterday’s fashions with today’s concepts. And while many fashion experts will only be too happy to pontificate the falling in love all over again of a trend from the past, perhaps it is just the true appreciation of good fashion design.

I must admit I was over the moon when dots appeared before my eyes on this years most popular pumps, heels, and flats.  I found them to be fun, young and in some ways familiar.  As much as I tried, I was unable to control my urge to buy anything that had these little colored in circles.  I was like a young girl at a Sadie Hawkins dance unable to pick which one I would attend the dance.   As a true fashion addict, it only seemed reasonable to buy everything and anything with a polka dot on it.

Now I know that this fashion craze will see its final days relatively soon unless we decide to hold the fashion icons in a hold pattern much like we continue to do with the animal print craze.  Polka dots are eye-catching and even on a rainy Monday just throwing on a polka-dotted rain coat can make me swear I see rays of sunshine.  This spring’s shoe fashions have brought delectable colors back and while I love them I am drawn to those with dots like a moth to an outside light bulb in the summer.

Hot off the press!!  These just arrived on Friday.  So much fun and keeping in true commitment to my Shoe Sorority Sisters these lovelies are affordable. $39.95-affordable luxurious fashion at it’s best.

Deborah Stilettos- Affordable Luxury

By now each of us has been effected in some way by the economic times.  No matter what the Wall Street predicts dressing nice and looking good never takes the back seat.  We just have to be smarter in what we buy and utilize what we already have in our closet.  One of the things that I love most about owning Deborah Stilettos in New Hope, Pa is that we strive to make fashion affordable to everyone.  Our store is modeled after the same hues that Channel made so famous in the to die for suit…cream and black.  We want our clients to experience the luxury of the shopping experience without emptying their wallets doing so.

Ok…so about that closet.  Have you been through it lately?  If you are still holding onto sizes that you haven’t seen since high school than it is time to make some money on these relics.  Take them out, clean them, press them and take some nice quality pictures and them list them on auction sites such as Ebay or sell them outright on Craig’s list. Once you have made yourself some money you will be able to invest it in some new finds.  But first, we need to come to some conclusion as to what items you actually need.

The must haves of every woman’s closet is a black skirt and dress, black slacks and perhaps tan ones as well, a white blouse, a pair of jeans, a nice belt, and one go to piece for when you are feeling a little under your game.  If you are lucky to have all of those items, it is time to add to the wardrobe.  Maybe a red skirt, cream-colored sweater or leggings would be a nice addition.  I would start off with basic colors and add color as finances allow.

The real trick of the success of any outfit is the accessories and the shoes.  If you are in the beginning stages of closet building, find shoes that are comfortable and can be paired easily with other outfits.  A pair of black pumps are a staple and the new shoe jewelry can easily be clipped on and off creating a different look with the same pair of heels.  Again, as your bank account allows, add shoes that can go with many different looks but have a pair that are real dazzlers.  Everyone needs one pair of Cinderella shoes in their closet.  Just make sure you have an outfit to wear them with otherwise they will serve no purpose.

Jewelry is another outfit maker.  Go from plain to perfectly coiffed by adding a pair of pearl stud earrings, a simple bracelet of charms perhaps or pearls, and a simple strand of pearls for your neck.  Pearls are a great beginning point because they can be worn casually or dressy and really look wonderful on all body types.

Wardrobe must haves

So don’t procrastinate any further and tackle that closet.  There’s a fabulous diva just waiting to come out.

Throw Away Shoes

We all have a great pair of heels in our closet that we will continue to repair until the end of time.  Maybe they are just your favorite heels, a pair of stilettos that you can tie a special event to, or simply, they were really expensive .  You take the high heels to the repair shop where you can often be met with a high priced repair bill.  So it makes you wonder if just finding affordable high heels is the way to go.

I have fallen victim to both buying heels that were extremely expensive.  So much so that I almost didn’t want to wear them because I was afraid of wearing them out.  I have also bought extremely cheap heels, stilettos, flats, and platforms only to watch them fall apart after one wear.  So is there a middle ground? Yes.  Today, with the competition being what it is and many of the women’s shoes being made in China shoes are being made with alternative materials driving down the cost of materials and labor and still producing a shoe that is stylish and fun.  In fact many of the shoes we are selling in our store, Deborah Stilettos, 16 W Bridge Street, New Hope, Pa and on our website www.DeborahStilettos.com come with replacement heels.  So when the little black rubber tip wears down to the metal on the back of the heel you just pull it out and stick an new one in.  It’s a remarkable idea because you are getting two cycles out of each use.

Faux Snake Sandals

These stunners are now available in our store for $39.96.  A great faux snake look for this upcoming spring season.  The crisscrossing in the front is nicely accented in a complimentry gold stitching.  It looks like animal prints will once again be the shoes to c

The Chunky Heel…A Prayer Answered to Those Who Love Heels

After two back to back seasons of stilettos, stilettos, stilettos, the fashion gurus have decided to change things up this spring season and offer a reprieve for those who love heels but have a difficult time walking in them. Stilettos are just not for everyone. The flashback of the chunky heel is no longer stuck in our memories- a fashion statement of the past…it is already being delivered to our Deborah Stilettos store in New Hope, Pa. and is also available on our website DeborahStilettos.com.

The only thing that makes a chunky heel even better is when it is no longer a high priced purchase but an affordable luxury.  We have such to show you.

This just in…

Fabulous Affordable Chunky High Heel

Fabulous Affordable Chunky High Heel

This stylish high heel is just calling your name.  Looks great on those work days and blends nicely into the evening hours.  The great part about it is your feet won’t kill you at the end of the night.  The added platform in the front of the shoe also allows for easier navigation giving a nice height enhancement while not putting too much pressure on the foot.  On this particular shoe, the dainty strap is a nice contrast to this boldly stated shoe.

So if you have killed your feet the last two seasons, stumbled around in stilettos, or heaven forbid….gave up heels all together…now is your chance to get back in the game…the game of affordable luxury.  Kisses Bellas  Deborah Stilettos  www.DeborahStilettos.com  and Facebook.com/DeborahStilettos

Affordable Luxury- Too Good To Pass Up

Who ever said that dressing stylish and classic had to cost a lot of money?  Well…probably no one but yet the fashion magazines always showcase the finest of fashions and the highest of prices.  I can’t tell you how many times I have fallen in love with a pair of stilettos as I breezed through my favorite periodical only to find out that the stilettos cost $1800.00!!  On to the next page, where I would stumble upon a great new skirt…$874.00!!!  Who are wearing these?  I guess someone is but with a daughter in college and two sons eating me out of house and home these are not my shopping options.  With that being said, I have had to be resourceful.  Being fashionable does not mean that you have to remortgage the house.  It is what I like to call Affordable Luxury which of course includes affordable clothing, affordable heels, affordable stilettos and affordable accessories. And…I am ready to prove my point!

Affordable boots and outfit

Ok…so you say.  Big deal!  You pulled together one outfit.  Don’t be a naysayer.  I can show you more.

Color Blocking Heels…Is It
Over Yet?

I am a high heel aficionado!  Every change of season, I look forward to the new styles and colors that grace every fashion magazine.  Last year I was a little taken back with the color blocking craze and quite frankly…I Just Wasn’t In To It!  The colors seemed to be a little over the top to me however people ate up those stilettos matching colors never meant to be paired together.

I own a high heel store and e commerce site in New Hope, Pennsylvania so working with women to find the right high heels is my profession and absolutely my love.  We went through the fall watching women carefully balance themselves on  slender stilettos that were the fashion trend.  Young girls and those not verse in balancing their bodies on such slight structures walked tediously around our store convincing themselves that they could make it the entire night at an event.  This spring offers an opportunity to women not verse in such heels to wear these lovely adornments because this spring the word on the street is thick and chunky heels.

I am definitely a stiletto girl at heart and have been blessed with the ability of wearing heels for an entire day. I have been wearing them my entire life so to say I have a master’s degree would be an understatement.  But there is something to be said about the chunky heel… glamour does take a back seat but sassy, bold and confident take over.  These shoes look great in both the basic colors of black, beige and brown and can make a statement in orange, red, and blue.  So take a minute and stop by-16 W Bridge Street, New Hope, Pennsylvania or visit our site www.DeborahStilettos.com.
